Camping at Summit Lake
Our LIT Department "May-Day" challenge reward was a couple days of camping at Summit Lake State Park, east of Indy. We enjoyed hiking, canoeing, swimming, sun-bathing =), and everything else that comes with the joys of camping! God blessed us with beautiful weather to make our time out of doors even more enjoyable too. It was definitely worth the work of meeting the challenge requirements!
Setting up camp
How many girls DOES it take to start a fire!?
Preparing supper--Chef Grose was so generous with the amount of food he purchased for us...we had enough to last us all week!
Hiking (walking on a mown path rather...close enough! =)

EQUIP Update
A quick update on my time at the Training Center... here are a couple of pictures from training and my two service practicums...
The Indianapolis Training Center--my "home" for the last nine months
My EQUIP team: Autumn, Rachael, Annabella, Faith, and I --in"normal" clothes because we were en route on a Journey to the Heart =)
My family came to visit for my promotion--this is actually one of the few pictures that I have of myself in my blue and khaki uniform!
This wasn't my room during training, but of the eight rooms on three different floors that I've lived in, this was the suite of rooms that I was in for the longest amount of time. I've shared this room with seven different girls!
Just thought I'd throw this picture in...a beautiful bouquet of flowers that I found waiting for me at the Front Desk one day...there's nothing like a vase of flowers on one's windowsill to add a touch of hospitality and home to one's room!

Hispanic Children's Program
While serving at the Training Center, I was blessed to be a part of the Hispanic ministry on Saturday afternoons. For a number of months I helped to teach Bible lessons and character qualities to the children and organized crafts, skits, and game times. My heart was stolen by so many of the children and I enjoyed getting to know some of the other ITC staff as we served together! God has SO blessed ITC's Hispanic ministry, and I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be a small part of it.
Skit time--acting out the parable of the talents
One of my favorite little boys, Manwell, and I
Another favorite, Jean-Carlo (Manwell's brother)
Mary, Hannah, Abby, Laurie, and Jacqueline -- some of the staff that helped out with the Children's Program

Floating Ships
At the end of our "May-Day" challenge we journeyed to West Park to test our ships' floatibility and enjoy a beautiful afternoon outdoors. Afterwards we spent some time shopping at Clay Terrace and treated ourselves to Coldstone in celebration of Annabella's 17th birthday!
Our lovely ship...You'd never imagine how much glue we used on this thing!

Nashville
This past week Dad and Skyler were down in Nashville at the ATI Regional Conference. Only, they weren't there to attend the conference but to help in the kitchen! They enjoyed their time immensely, and were incredibly blessed as they labored long hours preparing food, cleaning dishes, and a myriad of other things.
The kitchen staff at Nashville--including, ITC culinary students, Dad and Skyler, and the Querys and Youngs.
