Saturday evening we enjoyed a delightful time of fellowship with friends and family at Josh and Suzi's picnic. After a delicious "pot-providence"-styled supper, we talked, played games, and went on a hay-ride--a first for quite a few of the guests!

Anna and Silas were extremely cute as they pushed their little strollers around--I'm not sure what Anna's doing here...kissing Silas's shoulder, I guess!
Our dear friends, Laura and Rob--the Amazing Graces =)

Cherry Picking
Seth and Silas spent most of their time showing us which cherries we were NOT to pick!
The boys decided that the cherry trees were perfect for climbing.
So cute! Becca was loving the attention of the camera!
Anna and Suzi--Anna did a great job at emptying her basket almost as fast as we would fill it.
Afterwards, at the Lake--Sophia and Momma.

Celebrating the Sweetness of Everyday Life
Our family went on a "one-day vacation" with Josh, Suzi and the dearest Heagy family today. We began our vacation with a boat tour off of Lake Erie's Presque Isle, which included a detailed history of the Brig Niagra, Commodore Perry, and the Erie battles during the War of 1812. After the boat tour, we had a picnic lunch and had a wonderful time of fellowship while sun bathing and swimming in the Lake. And of course, no trip to the Peninsula would be complete without ice cream, so we treated ourselves to some gourmet ice cream at Cold Stone Creamery to ice the cake of a beautiful day! We praise the Lord for such opportunities to relax, rejuvenate, and spend time with friends and family while reflecting on the beauty of God's marvelous creation!
The Oliver Hazard Perry Monument. Commodore Perry's life is fascinating to study. He lived a very full and adventurous life before His death at the young age of 34. I don't think we would have ever guessed that he was terribly afraid of cows!
The Lady Kate, our not-very-beautiful, but beautifully named tour boat of the day!

Daddy and Silas enjoying the beautiful view.
The beautiful view!
Just for Anna--she loves ducks and was delighted to see some swimming on the Lake!
Skyler with his "red-neck surfboard" that he found floating near the edge of the water. It didn't work as a surfboard though. Wonder why!?
Momma and Sophia warming themselves in the sun on the beach.
Anna with her pail of sand-digging equipment. She was insistent about loading the sand pail with everything whenever she would change locations!
Some Nelsons, Heagys, and a Ho. We walked along a very long stretch of the beach to view this lighthouse up-close. It wasn't very big, but we learned that it was once made of wood, then of iron, and then of steel to withstand the conditions of the Lake (and the memory loss of local schooners!). A wearying walk, but worth every minute of it!

Celebrating First Moments
Savannah's very first watermelon! No, she didn't eat the entire thing, but she really liked it!
Sophia's first front porch swing ride! She just learned how to sit up on her own, so of course, we had to let her try the swing!

Sunday Afternoon
Here are just a few pictures Suzi took while picnicing at our home after church services today.
Josh and Misha wondering why "20 Q" is so fascinating
Josh and Suzi--obviously, Suzi didn't take this one. :-)
Stefanie and... well, we're not quite sure which twin she was holding in this picture!
